Okanagan
Hockey School
Satellite Camp-
Team Specific Training Programs
In addition
to our regular Satellite Hockey Camps, Okanagan Hockey School
is pleased to announce our new team and coaches training programs
to better suit your associations hockey development needs.
In this
format OHS will send three qualified professional coaches including
one goalie coach to work with individual teams and coaches on
a per practice basis to assist in the team component of hockey
development.
The
Objective: To provide your associations coaches with
customized practise sessions for their team's specific needs.
Our professional staff will identify problem areas and will
custom design practises, which will attack and correct these
weaknesses.
Specific instruction in the area of team play and strategy will
help give each player a better understanding of their role on
the ice. Players will learn breakout patterns, offensive attack
and fore-checking as well as defensive and neutral zone positioning.
Emphasis will be placed on the role of defenseman, forward,
and goaltender in Team Play Development. Your players will learn
the importance of team skills such as desire, pride, trust,
motivation and working hard to achieve a common goal—skills
that will benefit players throughout their adulthood.
The
Format:
Two of our Professional Okanagan Hockey School instructors plus
one goalie instructor will work with your individual teams.
·
We feel a five-day format (Thursday - Tuesday) will work best.
· One (1:15 - 1:30) high level, high intensity practice
per day per team.
· Two - three team oriented seminars including video
analysis per age level.
· We will travel with the individual teams if on the
road during our visit or view home games if applicable and videotape
them.
This is
a recommended format only and can be altered based on ice times
and availability.
Topics:
We can address such topics as offensive zone set up, power plays,
penalty-killing options, neutral zone play, regroups, defensive
zone positioning, breakouts, team speed as well as team building
can all be themes covered during our visit.
Association
Responsibilities: Schedule practices so that we can go on the
ice with each of the teams consecutively if possible.
Having game
tapes of the teams in question would be valuable in advance
of our visit so we can break them down and develop a strategy
to deal with individual team weaknesses and technical problems.
