Hockey Camps
In addition to the extensive
Summer Hockey Camp, Okanagan Hockey School also offers Satellite
Hockey Camps for interested Hockey organizations.
Okanagan Hockey School travels
all over the world providing Hockey skill training for youth
from 6 yrs to 18 yrs. of age. This is an opportunity for
organizations to provide professional Hockey skill training for
their players and coaches right in their own arena.
The Hockey camps are designed to
run on a weekend starting on a Friday evening and finishing on
Sunday afternoon. Depending on ice availability the program is
designed to provide up to 10 hours of exclusive skill training
plus lectures for each player. The skills that are covered are
POWER SKATING, STICKHANDLING, PASSING, SHOOTING, AND CHECKING.
If there are any specific skills that you want us to focus on,
we will cover them for you.

PLAYER
PROGRAM
HIGHLIGHTS
- Group Seminars
- Daily instruction screening dealing
with “2 on 1”, “1 on 1”, checking strategy, goal scoring strategy,
fore checking, back checking.
- Advanced power skating
techniques.
- Each player will receive a
private individual conference with an assigned
instructor.
- Each player receives a
comprehensive evaluation and players handbook.
- Instruction in wrist,
backhand, snap and slap shot - measured with a radar gun.
- Power skating instruction with
the skate harness.
- Video analysis of skating
& shooting.
- Off-ice plyometric core
strength training program.

PLAYERS
INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAM (8-16 YRS)
Players will
be grouped according to age and ability.
OHS’s outstanding instructional program is the result of
more than forty years of development by many of the games
finest coaches and players. The
five most important areas of the game are an OHS
instructional standard and are implemented in all hockey
programs.

OHS Students play in their
respective age groups, or in line with their individual
abilities, so that each player has an opportunity to develop
rapidly by receiving full attention from their instructors.

OHS
GOALTENDER PROGRAM
- Program focuses on
teaching basic fundamentals such as skating, stance,
angles, lateral movement, and save techniques.
On-Ice Training
- Daily Ice Sessions - Daily
instruction with full compliment of players to practice
game like situations.
Off-Ice
Training
- Goalie Plyometrics - Daily
off-ice training to work on save techniques, movement
exercises, hand-eye coordination, goalie specific core
strength and Plyometric training.
