The emphasis on position-specific instruction has become vital to the success of hockey players at all levels. The focus of the Defenseman Camp is to provide defenseman and forwards alike with an all-around exposure to the tools necessary to advance their hockey career.

 

Program Directors

Blake Wesley

Blake Wesley spent 10 years in the NHL as a defenseman with the Philadelphia Flyers, Hartford Whalers, Quebec Nordiques, and Toronto Maple Leafs. Blake was an assistant coach with the Portland Winter Hawks and Tri-City Americans of the Western Hockey League before joining the Okanagan Hockey School. A high performance certified coach, Blake is the Senior Director of Hockey Operations for the Okanagan Hockey Academy.

 

Robert Dirk

Robert Dirk is a 9-year veteran of the National Hockey League, as well as a 10-year professional coach in the UHL, WCHL, and ECHL. Robert spent his NHL career with the Vancouver Canucks, Chicago Blackhawks, and Anaheim Ducks. Rob is currently the Head Coach of the Okanagan Hockey Academy's Prep Team.
