The Capital News Centre is located on Gordon Drive at Lexington. It is the cornerstone of Mission Recreation Park. The centre, opened in January 2004, was awarded the Environmental Excellence Award from Aquila Networks Canada for its energy-efficient design. The $16.5 million facility offers:

• two NHL-size ice surfaces
• two indoor playing fields
• fitness centre and indoor running track
• leisure skating area
• physiotherapist’s office
• concession stand and restaurant
