Abbotsford Heat Summer Hockey School

Abbotsford Heat Summer Hockey School
presented by Okanagan Hockey School

Steve O'RourkeHead Instructor – Cam Cunning

Prior to being drafted in 2003 by the Calgary Flames in the 8th round, Cam Cunning began his Junior career with the Kamloops Blazers (WHL) in 2002-03 and was sent to the Vancouver Giants in 2004-05.  He closed out his time in the Western League with Red Deer in 2005-06.  Cunning tallied over 100 points during his WHL tenure before turning professional and joining the Calgary affiliate Omaha Knights in 2006-07. Cunning’s work ethic is second-to-none and his hard-nosed, aggressive play as a hard working left winger earned him 38 points (19 goals and 19 assists) this past season with the Abbotsford Heat.  Cunning had the longest point streak of the season racking up points in 6 straight games in February and March. To date, he has appeared in 290 professional AHL games and is just 3 points shy of 100.   Cam’s engaging personality and positive outlook will be a welcome addition to the Hockey School, which will focus on developmental skills with an emphasis on learning and having fun.
