OHS Celebrates 50 Years

Four hours east of Vancouver, located in the Southern Okanagan, is a picturesque little town with a special bond to our national sport

Penticton is home to the world-renowned Okanagan Hockey School, founded in 1963 by Larry Lund.  Fifty years later, the philosophy remains unchanged – to provide the most professional hockey instruction to our youth.

The Okanagan attracts thousands of families every year and with good reason.  Cruise like weather coupled with the most elite hockey instruction available to youth, makes for a fabulous family vacation.  The Okanagan Hockey School prides itself on a small student-instructor ratio to ensure every player achieves success.  The iconic list of Hockey School alumni suggests the OHS are doing things the right, summer after summer.  With the demand for professional, leading edge instruction the OHS has now expanded to Kelowna, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Prince George, Fort McMurray, St. Polten, Austria and Swindon,UK players from across the globe can now enjoy the OHS experience.

Today, the OHS bodes three NHL licensed hockey school affiliations, the Pacific Summer Showcase and many other great position specific camps. The Okanagan Hockey School is showing clearly why it plans on sticking around for another 50 years.

In the past our NHL friends like Duncan Keith, Pat Quinn, Chuck Kobasew and Carey Price stop by to sign autographs and share stories. Who might you meet this summer?
